Graduation Speech Script

Good morning — or good afternoon, or good evening — whichever it is by the time we get through the speeches. Class of [Year]. We made it. [Pause.] I want to start by saying thank you. Thank you to everyone in this room who supported us, believed in us, and occasionally tolerated us. To our parents, families, and friends who sacrificed to help us reach this moment — this degree belongs to you too. Now, everyone who gives a graduation speech feels obligated to give you advice. I'll keep mine to one thing: Be curious. Not just in your career, but about people, about ideas, about the world. The skills you learned here will evolve. The tools you used this year will be obsolete in a decade. But the habit of asking questions, of not accepting the first answer, of wanting to understand — that never gets outdated.
