About ScriptScroller
ScriptScroller.com is a free, browser-based teleprompter built for anyone who speaks on camera, on stage, or on calls — and wants to do it without stumbling over their words.
What ScriptScroller Does
ScriptScroller turns any browser into a professional teleprompter. Paste your script, set your speed, and start reading — no download, no signup, no cost. It works on laptops, desktops, tablets, and phones, in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.
Core features include:
- Auto-scrolling — adjustable speed with keyboard and mouse controls
- Voice-activated scrolling — AI-powered speech recognition that follows your speaking pace in real time, so the text moves with you instead of at a fixed speed
- Mirror mode — horizontal and vertical flip for use with physical beam-splitter teleprompter rigs
- Customizable display — font size, colors, line spacing, and margins to match your setup
- Script library — 129+ free, ready-to-use teleprompter scripts for Zoom calls, YouTube videos, sales pitches, weddings, sermons, podcasts, presentations, and more
Who Uses ScriptScroller
ScriptScroller is used by YouTubers, podcasters, video course creators, corporate presenters, sales teams, wedding speakers, pastors, teachers, call-center agents, and anyone else who needs to deliver prepared text naturally. Whether you're recording a TikTok or keynoting a conference, the problem is the same: you need your words in front of you without looking like you're reading them.
Why We Built It
Most teleprompter software is either expensive, requires a download, or demands account creation before you can start. We thought that was unnecessary. A teleprompter should be something you open in a tab and use immediately — like a calculator or a stopwatch. So we built one.
The voice-activated scrolling feature was added because fixed-speed scrolling creates a subtle but real problem: you end up pacing your delivery to the software instead of the other way around. Voice-tracking solves that by letting the teleprompter follow you.
Privacy-First Design
Your scripts stay in your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers, and we cannot see them. When you close the tab, they're gone (unless your browser's local storage retains settings). The voice-activated feature streams audio to Deepgram for real-time transcription — we don't receive or store any audio. Read our Privacy Policy for the full details.
