When to use this script
Use this when attendance drops off before you reach the point. Webinars have a brutal retention curve — a large share of the audience leaves in the first ten minutes, usually during housekeeping — and the parts that determine whether they stay are exactly the parts hosts improvise: the opening, the transitions, and the offer.
It is also the format where handoffs matter most. Moving between hosts, speakers, and Q&A is where webinars lose their momentum, and those joins benefit enormously from being written rather than negotiated live.
Making it sound like you
- Move housekeeping after the hook. Telling people where the chat box is before giving them a reason to stay is the classic webinar mistake.
- Make the promise specific and early, then deliver on it before the offer.
- Script the handoffs by name so speaker transitions do not stall.
- Write the offer transition carefully. It is the moment most likely to feel abrupt, and the wording is what makes it feel earned or not.
Reading it out loud
You are usually presenting slides while talking, so keep the script on the display nearest your camera and the deck on the other. Set the scroll pace by reading aloud rather than silently — webinar scripts are long, and pace errors compound over an hour.
